You may have noticed several changes introduced in our latest release on May 15th. While documenting some key updates along the way, we kept minor updates to ourselves to avoid overwhelming our users. We understand that it may be a little daunting for some to encounter a new look in the system without prior warning, and some people may feel confused by the new functionalities and changes compared to the old version.
To ensure a smooth transition for everyone, we will summarise all the changes made in this article. To avoid making it longer than necessary, we have formatted it as a quick wrap-up, listing all the new additions and other changes.
The clients page has been restructured to include a new client details section that displays graphs of time and charges for the past 12 months. Additionally, a section has been added below to view historical invoices for that client;
Introduction of self-billing credit notes that can be exported to Sage, Xero, and Quickbooks;
Postcode lookup for rapid address population;
Bank account validation;
A new page for managing your employees' and contractors' clock-ins, with the ability to view them all on a map if you have geo-location tracking enabled;
Many new features have been added to document signing, including extra tags and the ability to have two signers;
More functionality has been added to document management, including additional filters for recruitment accounts and the ability to control access to documents through an administrator permissions;
HMRC new start fields added for the new HMRC post-graduate loan questions;
Additional auditing on expense forms and a filter to view invoiced and non-invoiced expenses invoiced;
Employee group managers can now view their managers' expenses forms;
Modernisation of some of the icons used throughout the system;
New fields are available for imports;
A new dropdown allows users to edit or cancel a leave booking directly from the calendar view of the leave bookings page;
Leave submission emails can now incorporate a table displaying upcoming and past bookings within the email, using the tag %UPCOMINGLEAVEBOOKINGS%;
Provided control for end-users to disable SMS messages sent to them;
Added a project billing contact field;
A new type of rate mapping has been introduced: rates per employee per client;
We've launched the invoice margin report, which allows you to view sales versus purchases, grouped by client, contractor, or job, with customisable time grouping well;
A new feature to allow contractors to request a pay advance from the self-billing page. You can configure the system to automatically apply a deduction on their self-billing invoice as a percentage, which varies depending on how many days in advance they wish to be paid;
A convenient page for submitting timesheets in bulk, enabling you to select multiple users simultaneously and then supplying you with a comprehensive combined timesheet that can be completed and submitted all at once;
Sick pay management enables you to define the number of paid sick hours that employees receive annually, after which it reverts to unpaid status rate.
You can now break the link between a project and a single client and instead allow the project to be associated with multiple clients. It is useful for scenarios where the project is the same type of work but can be done for different clients. By sharing it, you no longer need to duplicate the project record and all its tasks for each client;
If you are using our renamable Activities tracking, you can now link these specifically to a client or a project.
New page for contractors to request holiday pay to be taken out of their holiday pay balance;
You can now enter your AWR rates as part of the exact rate mapping for a job. This means you no longer need to manually create a new rate and set an end date on the old rate when a candidate reaches AWR parity.
At Timesheet Portal, we are always looking for ways to give our clients as much value as we can. All of our updates and changes begin with you. Therefore, if you have any complaints, suggestions or would just like to provide feedback - we are waiting to hear from you.
